A Day On The Farm

Our day begins with a beautiful sunrise spreading over the eastern sky.

Cows are waiting for us in their free stalls...

But even before the sun is up we're already milking.

The cows in the parlor now are lined up eight on each side.

When the milking is finished there are hungry babies to feed!

Teamwork on a summer day!

Great wash job buddy!

Some others are hungry too this morning

so we're loading up balage...

Yum!

Or on warm summer days they go out to pasture...

Daily chores range from grinding our own cow feed in this big grinder,

Hauling load after load of manure,

Enjoying a new baby,

Assembling a new calf hutch for it,

Watching someone love their work,

Or baling hay at the neighbors. This is always a treat!!

Time to feed that hay! "Ready, shove!"

Unwind the wrap, and unwind the hay the same way.

Midnight and Chugger love their round bale!

End of the day... boots and coats in place and we thank the Lord for the blessing of a farm!

Our seasons flip flopped rather quickly today but you get the idea! :)

How About a Buggy Ride?? :)

~Below are a few video clips of the past month! The first one is when we took Laura over to our landlord's for a buggy ride, the second one is of David snowboarding at snow trails and the last one Laura wanted us to post for her. So here they are!

*Amy is a midwife with her own clients. She has been to 233 births and has delivered 72 babies on her own.

*She LOVES chocolate

*She's very talkative :)

*She has a vibrant relationship with the Lord

*She was a wild little toddler

*She attacked her preschool teacher

*Her camera is part of her anatomy

*Her and I (Juli)used to fight alot when we were little but now we are the best of friends!

*There's no job too small or too big for her to tackle

* She has to make sure the house is spotless before she can read a letter, watch a movie or do anything fun

*She is an exceptional journalist!

*She loves babies and music

~That is just some of the many things about Aim....

Our Adopted Sister

~Hey! At least for a few weeks anyways!!! Laura has been such a blast and so much fun to get to know! She came from her home state to work with Frieda so of course Amy and her were together alot!!! She came over to our house tons too which was so fun! (so of course we called her our adopted sister!) One day when we were getting ready for lunch, Amy and Laura got home from running around that morning and Laura came bouncing up the basement stairs saying, "Hi guys, I'm home!" It was really funny! We just love it when people make themselves at home here!!

Sewing baby slings. We have a really funny video clip of her sewing, laughing and saying, "It is so not going!"

The finished product! They tried them out on some baby dolls and they worked fine!

Laura had a yummy healthy recipe for peach cobbler so Jo helped her make it.

Cookie making!!! The perfectly smooth dough looked so tempting for hand prints! Anyone want to guess who's they are?? :)

Sunday night, Laura came over again to show us how to make a healthy meal! Cashew gravy over steamed broccoli,corn and carrots, pasta and soy curls instead of chicken! It had some fancy name but I don't remeber what it was!

Actually she and Amy had gone to a birth right when they started on supper so they dropped everything and ran. It was pretty late and dark out by the time they got back so Kayla, Micah and I decided to play a trick on them. We set up two metal folding chairs with a rod inbetween them and in front of that we had a big steel bowl full of silverware. Then we sat in the dark basement and waited for them. When they came Laura was the first out(via the car window because Amy's door latches were broken on both sides!) and the first to the door! She pushed open the door and there was a HUGE crash! Our trick worked great! She was like, "What did I break??!!"

After supper we curled up on the couch and watched Planet Earth. Everybody fell asleep though!

A picture of the food. It was really good and it was amazing how much the soy curls tasted like chicken! It wasn't quite as juicy but it was still good!

By the time we ate supper it was like quarter after 10!!!

And THIS was the funniest of all! You do recognize the girl in the picture, right??? She wanted to go for a buggy ride and dress up Amish so we called our landlord and they said, "Sure! Bring her over and we'll dress her up and give her a buggy ride!" You wouldn't believe how much everyone roared to see this nice little English girl dressed Amish! It was SO funny! We thought Laura looked like a wild Amish girl here with her cell phone and sweater! Even her hair style with the cap!

Pictures before Laura left! We also went to Lehmans and Laura got tons of funny pictures but Amy left her memory card home so no pictures for us. If we get some pictures we'll definately post them!
