Kids, Cattle, Horses

Going to sort cows a couple miles away from our place in another pasture.

The creek behind the pasture

This girl is due to calve within the month and is now sold since we don't want anymore milk cows.

The heifer in the front is now the happy mother of a bull.

These are the cows at the home farm.

Our favorite jersey/swiss milker
Mine and Kayla's shorthorns which are a beef breed for those who have never heard of them. They're #1. in beef breeds for calving ease, average daily gain, marbling, percent Choice and Yield Grade. They are also known for the their good dispositions. (Kayla's could be an exception though :/)

Why, hello Lacey! Couldn't get any closer, could you?

Chugger is the old faithful. We've had him for 13 years and he is a keeper still ;)

Lacey again. Doesn't she have a cute face?

Laylie's Lucky Frost

What a cow. I wonder what she'd say if she had a peek in the mirror.

Haley's Comet. Take a wild guess why she is named that!
"Howdy Folks!"
"Yup. I'm the man around here."

No, this is not a cow. It's Treasure-our little driving/riding pony.
Green pastures to you all~

Dana and his little girl

A sibling walk. I think we're safe-Mary's not doing over 40.

I can't believe this little cutie will be 2 on Sunday!

Dana and Mary with his new tractor. Mary's gonna be a real farm girl!

Enjoying the chocolate!

Dana's trailer of stuff he's hauling home. Anybody see what I see? ;)

A Visit to Some Friends

We haven't all been there in years so it was really fun! Dana, Lisa and Mary met us there.

A yummy dinner Mrs. G. made

Mr. G. feeding Mary her "bites"

Mrs. G. is an incredible piano player

Lisa was not cooperating for the picture ;)

One of Mrs. G.'s beautiful quilts

Their cute little house in the woods

The slide into the pond that we spent lots of happy hours at as little kids

Pouring over tractors ;)

Delicious pumpkin cheesecake

It was a great visit! Hope we can do it again!
