Sarah's Visit

What a treat is was to have Sarah here, all to ourselves, for two

whole weeks!! :)I know this is old news if you've been on Sar'a blog,
or mine, but I still wanted to put a few pics on this blog!:)
SometimesI wonder how did this happen!? An old friend from New
York... I have memories of the days we used spend at their house...
our brothers wrestling in the yard... playing dollhouse... swinging
each other in the hammock... getting stuck up in their huge tree
with Sar's sister Samantha ( I still don't remember how we got
down!) We move away... they move a few years later... we hadn't
heard alot from them in years. Then all the sudden we meet again
in April at Sarah's sisters place... they end up traveling through
the area and staying here! Sarah gets to come back and here we
are! The turns life takes are strange... and make me really wonder
somtimes...things that happen, people wemeet, friendships that
are born, provison when we need it most, questions- answered
with time, and many still w/o answeres...:)God has it all in His
hands. It's not strange, not coincidence, it's the Lord. Sarah being
here was one of those things. We never would've dreamed of it
happening and now can't stop chattering of all we did together
and the awesome friend we've made! (or re-made since we were
friends before.:)It was great! Juli and I (and Kay and everyone)
had an absolutely incredible time with her here and probably
about wore the poor girl out! The blogging, baking, milking,
water fights, fair days, guzzling birch beer,(uh that's similar to
root beer), licking huge oreoice cream cones, eating breakfast
on the run as we rush off to the fairfor somebody's show,
babysitting cows, painting toenails, tearing offto births, (and
waiting for hours,:) mornings of prenatals and PKU's, ( Another
thing- when you find someone with the same interest it's
amazing what can happen!), checking each others iron, hair
cutting, horse back rides, relaxing on the swing, freezing corn,
playing the piano, riding horses, "fights", being locked up in
the bathroom, popcorn balls, baking brownies at 1 am, staying
up till at least 2am every morning...(Those were by far the
best! :)...all our walks and talks... Memories thatlast a lifetime.
We loved having you here! Miss you TONS!
Being 'juvenile' waiting for a baby...

Feeding bottle calves... I know we're cruel putting company to work!

On a major baking spree...

Can you believe it- Sar never useda kitchen aid before??
We made her try it out. :)

That was all her- I didn't start it! ( Just paying me back for another day...)

Smell edible? Yummy!

Milking!

A paint war...

All our late night chats...
Lighting our nightly candle so we didn't have to talk in the dark!

Juli the new beautition!

Do I really trust you... I love Ju's face!

Getting dirty at the wash rack...:)
Painting nails in our bordom...

She looks like a natural!

We had a huge pile to husk!
Another fun chat while doing corn... after a water war!

Those popcorn balls were awsome!

Locked in the bathroom for 1/2 an hour thanks to three
pranksters and this rope!
Our brownies at 1 am!

Last pics together...:(

Watching a crazy video at Sar's sisters place...
a video that would not upload for you all to see
so keep guessing till we do post it!

Holmes County Fair ~Part 3

~ Here is the last of the fair pictures! We are sad that the fair is over because we had such a great week but of course...all good things must come to an end!

Micah won an award for an outstanding turkey project!

He and Jo both showed in the Little International which is a show for all the kids who won grand champion/reserve. They each have to show 10 livestock animals(such as dairy cow, dairy feeder, beef steers, llamas, pigs, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, goats and sheep). Whatever animal the kids had previously won with; they start with and the judges get 10 min. to judge them. After the 10 min. are over all the kids switch(rabbits to swine, swine to sheep, sheep to goats and so on.) Each kid gets a score of 1-10 and whoever has the highest score wins for being the top showman in Holmes County!

Jo trying her hand at showing sheep:)

There was about 40 kids that participated in the L.I.
They all had to line up on the fence while they waited to see who had won!

My friend Alayna was the top showman in Holmes County this year!!!!!!! Yay!!! She won a medal and got interviewed by the paper!!

A participant of the L.I.!

Nathan pulled in the pedal tractor pull! Its so fun to watch all these cute little kids giving it their best shot!

Battle of the clubs!!
Mike & Micah competing in the wheelbarrow race

Our club against another club! We won of course!:)

Have to have rides at the fair of course!!! The ship! Jo was beeging me to go on it with her! It was a blast!

Sarah and Kayla snoozing away! (I know you guys will just love this picture!)

Josh gobbling down his elephant ear! Those things are the best!(Nevermind how much they cost and how fattening they are!)

We won grand champion in the dairy barn for outstanding dairy herdsman!!!

Can't have a fair without a farris wheel!

Goodbye until next year!

Holmes County Fair ~Part 2

~So here is the next part of the fair! And if you don't like pictures I guess you won't like this post because I posted quite a bit! It was a stressful yet fun-filled week! We really enjoyed all those great concession stands and greasy food! Yum! The truck pulls were....interesting, the tractor pulls great! The pig shows were funny and entertaining. The poultry shows....yes...they were rather boring. Washing dirty steers every morning and babysitting them all day got old but it still was a blast! Of course one of the best parts was the $1 cookies-n-cream ice cream cones! Oh boy! Big and full of huge cookies! Nothing better!

Here we are sitting on the bleachers during a tractor pull relishing those greasy, fried onion rings!(Yes we look rather interesting but that's us!)

Our sleeping beauties (Jokingly of course!:)

Ahhhh!! Fresh,sweet kettle corn!

Everyone take a big handful!

Preparing for swine showmanship...
There was a pig jam up and this poor little girl was right in the middle. She was pretty frightened to say the least!

The outside. If you can't tell the theme was a western jail. It turned out pretty cool and we won a ribbon for an outstanding booth!

The TYPHOON!!! Oh this was fun!

Amy did manage to take a picture from the typhoon while being swung around and around!

These two little guys were so cute running up to the stand to buy a dollar's worth of Mountain Dew!
