Our Aunt Gretchen & cousin Theresa came for a visit last weekend...it was really fun!!
We went to the pasture to load up some cows that were getting ready to calve and we also picked a bunch of mint to make tea with! Yummy!

Driving up on top of the hill to have a picnic!! It was fun!

Our picnic on the hill. We have a good view from up there so that is neat!

Nathan enjoying his food! :)

Mom and Aunt Gretchen chatting and enjoying the "mountain breeze."

Nathan's 1st Fish

A simple fishing rod, a tiny blue gill, a small red string,
a thrilled little boy.

That evening Nathan caught his first fish was a huge day in
his 5 yr. old life, putting him in the ranks with his big brothers!
He was SO excited, and we were too just seeing his beaming
face. Many times he's gone to fish with Micah, coming
home empty handed. He began to say,
"I don't like fishing. It's not fun!" Now that has changed...
"I love fishing!!"
Many summer afternoons go by and we can be found right here...

The catch is better and slime less off the boat.
Nathan was sure if he'd just be allowed in the
boat he could catch one!
The pro with one of his many catches.
"Another cast Dad?!"
'Like big brother, like little brother...'

Headed home with his very first fish!

Yum!

Our Past Week

~~~
This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ear
All nature sings,and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees,of skies and seas-
His hand the wonders wrought.
:::
This is my Father's world,
the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
declare their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world:
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass
I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere.
Snapper
"Down by the creek in the sand and the sun
lived and old mother turtle..."
One day while we were all wading in the pasture
creek Joanna found this vicious snapping turtle
stuck in a wire panel.
In one swift snap that snapper lashed out her
long neck giving Micah a good fight!
We decided toes and her mouth would be
detrimental to well being and backed away.
Dad dragged the panel out for a better look.
Pretty?? Pretty nasty mouth.
We got her! No turtle soup this time,
but Micah kept the shell.
Time With Dana & Lisa
Walnut Creek Cheese and the best ice cream!!!
It is very dangerous to sit next to Jo when she eats anything messy!
Look at that mischievous smile!
Yum!
This is great!
dodge 23
The dodge is my auto I shall not walk.
It maketh me to lie down beneath it.
It leaveth me stranded in deep waters n deep snow.
It vexeth my soul.
It leadeth me in the path of ridicule for its namesake.
Yea, though I ride through the valleys, I am towed up the hills.
I fear all evil for my sparkplug corrodeth.
My rods and my bolts discomfort me.
It anointest my hands with grease.
My radiator boileth over.
Surely troubles shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall plead before the dodge in vain forever and always.
----------------
I asked Dana the other day WHY is it EVERY time they come he works on his truck... now I know.
Please pray for him and Josh as they spend this next week driving to Alaska.
He's pulling a 32 foot trailor, weighing 9 ton, roughly 5,000 miles.
Troubles already follow... flat tire,fried wires...
